I have always been enamored in how we as people horde images of our past as objects and don’t do anything with them, they usually sit and collect dust. For this series I asked four individuals to collect that imagery and let me help tell a story about who they are today. I made one color 4x5 images and two black and white. Once those images were made I gave everything back to each and asked them to write about it with where it led them.
Growing older is a universal aspect of life but that does not make it any easier to understand. Often there is an archive of our growth that sits for decades without reflection. In these archives we see what we once looked like, who we spent time with, and how much we have changed since. A Private Show asks four individuals to compile their history, construct their present, and write about their memory.
